'Maniacal Meditations' + 'At the Pillars of Corinth' EPs

Here are some tracks from the re-recording of 'Maniacal Meditations' which will be included on the tape and CD versions of 'Enantiodromia'. Vinyl dates are coming. Also we are happy to present a demo of our upcoming 7", 'At the Pillars of Corinth'.

'Enantiodromia' releases 6/30/13!

This album took years and is very personal to us. The story begins as a young group of kids wanting to play death metal music, and ends with 'Enantiodromia'. The album is recorded on 16-tone guitars, and the scales used are an example of a 'Musical Enantiodromia'. The musical scales used here, reverse the cycle of fifths from major to minor, giving a color or mood to the sound overall. At the moment in 2013, anywhere in the world you go to buy a guitar you will be limited to 12 equal tones. One will find 12 frets to where the string divides in half (2/1, traditionally called an 'octave' in music theory), and another 12, making 24 frets at the 4/1. This is called 'equal temperament', and the 12-tone equal scale adapts a greek modal gamut(ionian, dorian, etc). The sixteen tone equal 2/1 scale guitars we built and used on this recording not only compress the tones and cycle of fifths to a 'minor' effect, but adapt to indonesian modes, and allow for higher-prime divisions of the string. Further, the 16-tone equal scale reverses not only major and minor triads from the 2-step "diatonic" scale known by westerners, but the step sizes themselves. In 12-tone, the 'notes' correspond to LLsLLLs, or Large Large Small, Large Large Large Small-- with the break at the musical 'perfect fourth interval'. In 16-tone the step sizes reverse, making for the sequence: Small Small Large, Small Small Small Large. All music we know and love, also exists within a truly opposite equal dimension unknown to the population of the world at large.
